A native of Ft.Worth TX, Steve Hooker moved to
San Francisco in the late '70s to attend the conservatory of music.
Moving back home, and sweating again didn't seem like a good idea, so
he stayed. After a long career as a field technician, working on
copiers he decided that If he was ever going to pursue his lifelong
dream, and work with dogs, he'd better get around to it soon, and so he
formed Hooker's Hounds(where Happy is our middle name).
In addition to his years of obsessive pet ownership, he has been a
volunteer (doing medical volunteering, dog walking and socialization of
cats and dogs) at SFSPCA, SFACC, and Pets Unlimited, he's a
of the dogTEC Dog Walking Academy, and he has trained with and worked for established walkers as a fill-in pack leader when they are not available to work. He and his dog Sophie have been
regulars at Ft. Funston for years. Steve knows dogs, and he knows
where Happy is our middle name
We feel guilty taking money for doing something we love so much, but that is our business plan
* In the interest of clarity, we would like to point out that we are NOT looking for canine psychopaths (for them you'll need a bigger hammer), just active, intense, bored and frustrated wonderdogs in need of a good romp on a regular basis.
Ithas come to our attention that the home-made look of our site might scare some folks off. Please don't say things like that where Sophie can hear them. She worked really hard on this website. And if you ask me, for a lab-pointer mix, she's done a pretty good job. I'd like to spruce it up a bit myself, but I don't want to hurt her feelings.
